Verdict

Moltoir beat Global Exceed at Beverley but the runner-up is now 4lb better off and didn’t get a clear run on the Westwood so may well reverse the form. Mark Johnston won this last year with a useful three-year-old and saddles Austin Powers, who has yet to win but has been placed several times. Waarif is tough and consistent but has won just one of his 15 starts and that was on the all-weather. VIVE LA DIFFERENCE (NAP) was ahead of David O’Meara’s charge at Beverley last month and won over this course and distance prior to that. He’s still climbing the weights but has shown himself to be well suited by fast ground lately and looks the one to beat.
