Verdict

MELODY KING won this last year and though behind Soul Seeker at Pontefract last time had excuses having lost a shoe. John Quinn's charge will be 3lb better off and can reverse the places and land this for the second time. The three-year-old Cotai West, a winner at Doncaster in June, put a disappointing run at Beverley behind her when landing a handicap against her own age group at Newmarket for which she's only gone up 1lb so has to be respected. Monica looked one to follow when easily landing a novices' event at Carlisle and may not have enjoyed the soft conditions when disappointing at Haydock.
