Aqwaam, who ran very well when runner-up at Doncaster last weekend, missed a race at Chester on Friday for this. Derry Lad travels over from Ireland and a recent second over a trip too short on heavy ground at Navan puts him in the picture. Faylaq reappeared with a fine run over 1m5f here last week and has been left on the same mark while CROESO CYMRAEG will have found 1m2f just too short when runner-up at Windsor and is back on the same mark as when last successful. Don't Look Back only just failed to get up over the track and trip last weekend so has to be on the shortlist.
Faylaq 15-2 (8-13) Dwelt, in rear, headway travelling strongly well over 2f out, soon waiting for gap, switched left and in clear 1f out, ridden inside last and stayed on well, 2nd of 10, 1 1/4l behind Postileo (9-9) at Hamilton 1m 5f hcp (3) gs in May.

Croeso Cymraeg 3-1 (9-10) Prominent, disputed 4f out, soon led outright down centre, ridden when joined and past by winner just before final furlong, soon outpaced, hard pressed by rival when came close on far rails entering final furlong, rallied and kept inside final 110 yards, no chance with winner, 2nd of 6, 2 1/4l behind Fast Steps (9-9) at Windsor 1m 2f hcp (4) sft in May.
