In depth

Verdict

Poet's Dawn, just beaten in a bunch finish at Beverley nine days ago, has form over this longer trip but not on ground this soft, though is well treated at present. Gulf Of Poets finished a few lengths behind Sarvi over a mile here last month and would also have preferred a quicker surface whereas it was soft going when Pour Me A Drink won at Ayr two runs ago. The top weight has something to find with Sister Midnight on a more recent effort at that track but the going was a lot faster that day. SOOTABILITY couldn’t cope with a rise in class and a step up in distance last time at York but had won well at Haydock earlier and this is probably her level. Granite City Doc is in good form and loves it here so can’t be ignored.
