Stepaside gets the call here ahead of Distant Sun and Maysarah. Stepaside has shown plenty of promise, including when not beaten too far in a seven-furlong handicap off a mark of 72 last time. Overall, he seems to represent what the others have to aim at. Distant Sun has shown promise in each start to date and, with the form equating to around the mid-60s mark, he has to be given some thought, This said, Five Wishes finished ahead of him in a maiden at Pontefract last time. Hansomis's narrow second at Ayr last time, albeit on heavy going, gives him a shout, while Mandarin Rocket could go well if recapturing his 2006 promise of around a year ago. Maysarah has to be seriously considered based on his Kempton maiden debut, and he was overfaced in a valuable Curragh race last time. The selection, though, is Stepaside.
