    Verdict

Pastoral Prey went backwards last term after finishing runner-up over track and trip in June while a poor draw compromised the chances of A J COOK at Beverley last week and he was never in contention. But his earlier fourth at Wolverhampton is the best form on offer and David Barron's charge gets the nod in a poor maiden. Compton Heights should improve on his fourth at Thirsk but will need to if he's to figure while French import Anan hasn't raced since 2009. Pastureyes finished second at Ripon on his debut but faded badly on his recent return to action.
