In depth

Verdict

Dream Champion has been frustrating to follow so far, but can finally get his head in front, with Power Of Future and Luck In Running likely to give him most to do. Mick Channon will leave no stone unturned in his bid to get Dream Champion into the winner's enclosure, and there should certainly be no excuses on this occasion, with fitness not an issue. The son of Fraam is not bred to get a mile-and-a-half but seemed to have no problem staying when upped to 11 furlongs at Southwell last month, finishing a close second to Free To Air. In receipt of plenty of weight from the older opposition here, he may well have most to fear from his fellow three-year-old Power Of Future who shaped well on his Newmarket debut last October and who has by all account been striding out well at home. Luck In Running will be suited by the faster ground today, but the Mark Johnston stable is not yet firing home the winners, so he is best watched, with preference much for the consistent but luckless Dream Champion.
