      Verdict

      Retirement Beckons has won four times around here and gained the ninth victory of his career in an amateurs' race at Carlisle last week for which he has a 4lb penalty. Elettaria also won on the latter track last time but had earlier been a long way behind BANNER ROAD at Ayr. The latter has continued in good form though wouldn't want the ground to firm up. Nefyn Dawn started out in bumpers but has run reasonably well over 7f the last twice and will be better suited by this trip.
