This looks like a very competitive event, with the likes of Bollin Thomas, Kid¿z¿play and Collier Hill all capable of playing a major part, but the vote goes to Octane. Mark Brisbourne¿s seven-year-old has been a grand servant to connections since leaving Henry Cecil and was to be aimed at the Chester Cup next week. However, he has taken a bit of time to come to hand so he has been given the easier option of this mile and five furlong contest. His second to Bourgeois at Haydock was not bad although he was probably flattered by his proximity to the winner. Nevertheless he should improve a bit more to take the beating here. Kid¿z¿play¿s supporters can take heart from his return to form last time and he makes more appeal than Collier Hill who, although an ultra-consistent sort, might need the run. Bollin Thomas looks best of the rest and this gutsy sort can be followed for the rest of the season if not here.
