        Verdict

        Frank First is a reliable sort around here but was beaten almost seven lengths when runner-up in a similar contest three weeks ago. This is Three Deep’s level and he is unlikely to be far away if getting a run while Vintage Kitten is eased in grade so goes on the shortlist. Conquistador was only headed inside the final furlong when runner-up to Positive Phil here at the start of the month but LOOKIN AT ROSES (NAP) was finishing best of all that day and was only a neck behind Mark Casse’s gelding at the the finish. It’s not a stretch to imagine that form will be reversed today and Irad Ortiz’ mount holds January Won on that run.
