        Verdict

        One of the leading jockey’s in the US, Irad Ortiz returns to the fray with a strong book of rides and partners the American Pharoah newcomer Basquiat in this while the $400,000 debutant Chasing Anna also represents powerful connections. But a couple of these have already shown ability at this level including the Pletcher-trained Ashiham, who will have progressed for February’s debut fourth here, though FUGITIVE looks the one to side with. He’s been drawn out wide in both outings so far but wasn’t disgraced on either occasion and can make the most of today’s more favourable draw by landing this.
