VA PENSIERO made a successful debut in a Dundalk maiden in February before landing a Leopardstown handicap on testing ground a couple of weeks ago. She is still progressing and a mark of 86 looks workable. Ceol An Ghra beat Waitaki, who runs in the opener, in a Curragh maiden before finding Group 3 company a step too far at Leopardstown and this is more his class. Penny Pepper has been narrowly beaten in all of her last three starts so should be thereabouts again while Gift Wrap ended her first campaign with an emphatic victory at Dundalk in December, though she's been raised 12lb. Mzuri was receiving lumps of weight when just touched off by Jamesie at Dundalk three weeks ago but it was still a very good run against a useful performer while Granny May made a winning start at Gowran in September despite running very green.
