Verdict

Zafarqand, a winner on the Flat back in 2013, was having his first start since that year when making an encouraging debut over timber at Limerick last month and should be winning soon. Macbride, who completed a hat-trick in bumpers in 2014, didn't do as well as expected over hurdles last year though all three runs came on testing going. He's expected to do much better in quicker conditions though if DAY DAY runs as well as she did when narrowly beaten by Icelip in a Tramore handicap a fortnight ago then she'll take the world of beating. Texas Rock and Hudson's Bay both have won twice on the Flat and are rated in the 80's so have potential.
