A maximum field of low-grade hurdles with few arriving in form. ROCK ON BACH had shown nothing before Clonmel a month ago which is why he started 50/1. However, he almost defied the odds with a battling display resulting in a short-head defeat by Most Honourable - a similar display would suffice here. Shek O Lad did better at Ballinrobe but may need softer conditions while Carlyan has had 15 starts without winning and her best runs have been over further. Kilcaragh Boy has produced the occasional decent run and Timanora was well supported at Downpatrick but this looks a race where the market could provide some clues.
