The Johnstons’ yard have a good record in this and Soapy Stevens is preferred of his three runners bidding for a hat-trick. The latter won at Newmarket last time though both Red Flyer and Sam Cooke were in close attendance. Trawlerman, however, was well beaten in the same contest and is fitted with a hood. Bague D'or has also been in winning form over today’s trip and scored at Ascot on his latest start while Valley Forge won over 2m in May having earlier been beaten by CEMHAAN (NAP) at Newmarket. The latter can be forgiven a subsequent defeat at Ascot having run into all sorts of trouble and George Baker’s charge gets another chance in this.
