No match for Serpentine in the Derby, Khalifa Sat still finished a creditable second at Epsom and will likely race prominently once again. But ENGLISH KING finished less than a length behind the latter having sweated up badly at the start and failing to hit top gear until the closing stages. Frankie may well ride him closer to the pace on this occasion and Ed Walker’s Lingfield Derby Trial winner gets another chance. Mogul also finished strongly from off the pace in the Derby and can’t be written off but Highland Chief was well beaten at Epsom and Al Aasy looks the more progressive. The latter won a Group 3 contest at Newmarket last time, though seems to prefer some cut in the ground. Subjectivist represents last year’s winning yard but the Listed winner faces a much tougher task today.
