CAOBA can defy a six pound penalty to land the opener at the expense of Ned Ludd, Calculating and Eforetta. The selection had performed well over jumps this spring winning at Wincanton last month. He won nicely on his return to the flat at Nottingham last time out and connections are keen to get another run into him with his penalty rather than wait to be reassessed by the handicapper. If he recaptures his form he will prove difficult to beat. Ned Ludd ran well to finish third to Sweetheart over course and distance last time out and once again warrants respect. Calculating is a tough and consistent sort who always runs his race. He ran well to finish third in behind the selection Caoba last time out and is now six pounds better of so is one to note in the betting market. The same can be said about Eforetta who has gained back to back successes at Southwell and Kempton of late but has shot up the weights as a consequence and life will be tougher form now on. This looks a competitive affair but Caoba ticks more boxes than the majority of his rivals and is taken to follow up on his recent success.
