A Goodwood cavalry charge and luck in running is often crucial, especially with many in-form contenders on show. Dusky Prince has rattled up a rapid hat-trick but is now 17lb higher than for the first of those wins. He's not discounted though in such form, along with the likes of recent winners in Swayze, Silky Wilkie and Resilience, preferred in that order. Sir Henry Cotton was only beaten half a length by Swayze last time and the pair remain closely matched, whilst Navello and Shamlaan merit their place at the head of the weights. However, northern raider LE BEAU GARCON is interesting as he's only had five starts to date, proving progressive over the minimum trip to which he now reverts after a solid effort in a hot Newmarket sprint last time over a furlong further. He's on a nice mark too.
