No Yeats or Persian Punch likely to emerge here but a competitive renewal all the same with Opinion Poll sure to be popular for Godolphin. He stayed on really well to claim the runner-up spot behind Fame And Glory in the Gold Cup and has a series of fine staying efforts to his name. However, his style of racing means things have to drop his way and MANIGHAR is a decent alternative. He finished a creditable fourth in the Gold Cup when appearing to not quite get home and was a highly respectable third in the Yorkshire Cup on his seasonal reappearance. This trip could suit him perfectly. Something was amiss with Tastahil in the Gold Cup but he has definite claims on the best of his staying form, likewise Overturn who should ensure an end-to-end gallop. Fox Hunt is a rapid improver for the Johnston team and is well worth upping in grade and trip, whilst the progressive Chiberta King and the assured staying pair of Blue Bajan and Aaim To Prosper also merit respect.
