Verdict

Questioning is a reliable sort at this level but faces no easy task here under a penalty, though is still preferred to handicappers Voodoo Prince and Love Your Looks while Rockinante didn't find a great deal when trying to make all at Haydock and his only previous try over this trip was fairly inconclusive. Primevere is most consistent and has been knocking on the door in Group 3 races this season. She won't be far away but it's probably worth giving EKTIHAAM another chance in first-time blinkers. He was a close second to Bonfire in the Dante at York in May, a race in which Pisco Sour had also been placed 12 months earlier, and was flying too high in the French Derby at Chantilly next time. Though returning from a break, he won on his reappearance at Newbury and also on his debut as a two-year-old so clearly goes well fresh.
