      Verdict

      None of these can be dismissed out of hand and that includes the newcomers and Derby entries Scarlet Minstrel and Ya Hade Ye Delil, a 525,000gns purchase. Fellow newcomer Atalan is related to three winners and Ryan Moore gets the leg-up while though Shadow Rock may have disappointed at Salisbury last time his earlier second at Newmarket was a good effort. Constable Buckley ran well for second when unfancied at Newbury but a tentative vote goes to DISSOLUTION. He finished five lengths clear of the rest when runner-up at Haydock and can go one better in a first-time visor.
