      Verdict

      The step up to Listed company at York proved beyond EXENTRICITY last time. But she'd earlier gone close in soft going at Salisbury and that looks stronger form than Showcard's debut fifth at Ascot. Mick Channon's filly may have too much for the newcomers and gets the vote. Jockey bookings suggest Crystal Malt is preferred to Lady Mascot of the Hannon fillies but Carrot Top makes more appeal than both as she's a half-sister to winning sprinter Poppy Seed among others. Peace And War cost $300,000 as a yearling and is another to note on her debut.
