In depth

Verdict

The three-year-olds Room Key and Jelly Monger look up against it in this, despite various allowances, as most of the others are proven performers at this level and higher. Wannabe Yours beat Hors De Combat over a mile here just over a year ago but neither have tried this longer trip before. Basem progressed from handicaps to finish third in a Group 3 at York last month but his one run over 1m2f last year ended in disappointment, though he's probably a stronger individual now and will handle conditions. BATTALION has won over 1m2f and further and his latest third at Windsor suggested he's approaching his best again. William Haggas' charge may be the one to beat with both David Livingston and Empire Storm lacking a recent run.
