In depth

Formwatch

Shoeshine Boy (IRE) Narrow winner of Thirsk handicap in May (now 5lb lower); but most disappointing of late and tries this trip for first time; others preferred.

Mitcham (IRE) Nowhere near as good as in 1999 (won Group 2 King's Stand Stakes) but still capable of bold show at this level though none too consistent.

Threezedzz Has place claims on early season form and not disgraced over 5f in conditions event latest; not without a chance.

Game N Gifted Well beaten this term; wears blinkers for first time.

Kathology (IRE) Excellent chance on early season form but has become disappointing; others preferred.

Glowing Narrow winner of competitive handicap over C&D in July but has been struggling off revised mark.

Cadeaux Cher Smart sprinter on his day and on same mark as when successful at Doncaster in March but below best of late.

Bandanna On a fair mark but latest efforts suggest he faces no easy task.

Loyal Tycoon (IRE) Won well at Lingfield in June but has ben below best of late and still 3lb higher here.

Princess Almora Has been struggling since winning Windsor handicap in July.

Ravishing (IRE) Put up best performance when close runner-up in highly competitive Great St Wilfred Handicap last month (now 3lb higher); worth chancing at this level.

Budelli (IRE) Has been in excellent heart of late and has conditions to suit but on a long losing sequence and may have to settle for a place once again.

Bethesda Has progresed well for fitting of blinkers winning last two handicaps at Salisbury and Bath; further improvement to come and will go well under 4lb penalty.

Baby Barry Has improved for refitting of visor (won twice from four starts); not disgraced latest and top jockey booked; chance.

Passion For Life Veteran who is well treated at best and showed return to form latest but ideally needs more cut in ground to be fully effective.

Zietzig (IRE) Acts well on track but finds this trip on sharp side nowadays.

Pandjojoe (IRE) Good effort over C&D behind Smokin Beau latest but best form has been with more cut in ground.
