Take Cover won this in 2104 and was narrowly beaten in 2015 before winning it again last year. But it was fast ground on all three occasions, as it was when beating Final Venture at York last month with Kyllang Rock further behind. The going may also prove a problem for the progressive Battaash having won a Group 3 at Sandown last time while Marsha was ahead of Priceless and Kachy when landing the Palace House at Newmarket earlier and beat Washington Dc, Ardad and PROFITABLE (NAP) in last year’s Prix de l’Abbaye at Chantilly. But the latter reversed running when finding only Lady Aurelia too good in the King’s Stand at Ascot last month and Clive Cox’ charge gets the nod to come out best today having won the latter event in soft ground in 2016.
