Verdict

DUKE OF FIRENZE looked in need of the outing on his seasonal debut at Doncaster. His stable has hit top form since then and, dropping down in class today, Sir Michael Stoute's charge gets the vote. Kyleakin Lass is another taking on lesser rivals with a comeback run in a Listed event under her belt and she can figure but Naabegha hasn't raced since winning at Salisbury in June. Cadeaux Pearl has yet to take advantage of her slide down the weights and Captain Carey finished tailed off at Nottingham on his first start since 2011 so Steps may be best of the rest.
