Constantinople went close in a handicap over today’s trip at Ascot last time having won a Group 3 race at the Curragh before that for which he’s penalised. SPANISH MISSION also carries a penalty but it was difficult not be impressed with his four-length defeat of the re-opposing Nayef Road in the Bahrain Trophy at Newbury last month and David Simcock’s colt is taken to continue his good progress. Jalmoud was no match for Japan when third in a Group 1 race in France, though the return to fast ground will be welcome. Dal Horrisgle is upped in class and distance after landing a handicap over 1m2f at Haydock in good style and has more scope than the likes of Technician, Floating Artist and Cap Francais. Jessica Harrington’s St Leger entry Leo De Fury is interesting having won both starts over 1m2f in Ireland by a wide-margin and we’ll know more about him after this.
