Not one favourite has won this in the last ten renewals and it's easy to see why as it's difficult to find one without a chance. Mark Johnston has won it twice in that period and is double-handed this time. Scatter Dice arrives in cracking form and with a penalty for a battling victory at Ascot on Sunday. Darren Egan's claim almost negates the extra and she can go well but it's SIR GRAHAM WADE, who hasn't been seen since beating three subsequent winners on soft ground at Haydock in April, who looks just the type for this and is handed the vote. Stature was behind Scatter Dice at Musselburgh in June and won't be any better off but he's undoubtedly improved in the meantime and has to go on the short-list along with Rule Book, who was having only his fourth start when beating previous winner Rye House at Salisbury. Willie Wag Tail had no problems when stepping up to this trip for the first time at Kempton while Trend Is My Friend will appreciate the longer trip after staying on strongly over 1m2f at Sandown. Handsome Man may prove the main threat as he was only caught in the final strides in the King George V Handicap at Ascot and is still on the upgrade.
