As is so often the case the market will help guide to the chances of the newcomers, however Nawaaff made a pleasing debut at York in a better race than this and can win today at the main expense of Barbarossa and Bobs Surprise. The selection was only beaten just over a length on debut and with ground conditions similar today, he looks worth siding with. The time of that race was decent and with nominal improvement (was green on debut), he should take plenty of beating. Richard Hannon's pair Barbarossa and Mymumsaysimthebest are of interest on their debuts, the former looks the pick on jockey bookings. Vigano should come on for his debut run but will need to to play a part here, whilst Amanda Perrett's horses are in good form so Lisselan Prospect must be considered, although the stable aren't renowned for first time out winners. Captain Esteem and Bobs Surprise represent the in-form Barry Hills and the market will help guide their chances but both are bred to be effective over this trip at two. Nawaaff though has solid form and gets the confident selection.
