Verdict

Aidan O'Brien won this six times in succession before Joseph took over last year. Agathon, a €360,000 half-brother to the very smart Agartha, represents the latter but it's likely to take a big effort to beat the Ballydoyle entry HIAWATHA. He was unable to get past the well-supported Alder at Killarney when the winner's experience was the key factor and compensation awaits. Serious Challenge has already run at the meeting finishing an excellent third behind two nice types on Monday. Jim Bolger never has any qualms about bringing them out quickly and another big run is expected. Jessica Harrington trained the winner of the latter event and Trident Star looks another potentially useful type on breeding.
