Dermot Weld and Aidan O'Brien won this eight times between them before David Wachman's subsequent 1000 Guineas winner Legatissimo interrupted the sequence last year. The former is represented by SIMANNKA here and she is taken to make up for an unlucky run on her debut at Tipperary where she was impeded when just starting her challenge. Ballydoyle's representative is Kind Of Magic, who was given a considerate ride on her opening run behind her stablemate Alice Springs at the Curragh. Runner-up in that latter race was Siamsaiocht, who ran a fine race and led briefly at the two furlong pole before being outpaced. Wachman saddles Sing For Me, another who performed with credit in that race at the Curragh when making good late headway. Now Or Never couldn't quite get to Vitello at Fairyhouse but it was a cracking first effort against a rival who already had experience.
