Having won his last two bumpers in very impressive fashion, ROYAL RENDEZVOUS will be a short-priced favourite to make a successful start over hurdles and is difficult to oppose. Empire Burleque looks the main threat as he followed a victory between the flags with another on his bumper debut and can't have been right when tailed off in a Grade 2 on his hurdling bow at Leopardstown in February. Stable companion Steel Cap won a Kilbeggan bumper on his racecourse debut but has shown little in two starts over timber. Tara Dylan, three times a winner on the Flat, has some decent form over hurdles to her credit though will need to find a bit more.
