Verdict

Macgiloney won this a year ago but this looks a stronger renewal and he was four lengths behind Darver Star at Kilbeggan last month. The winner is penalised 6lb so it should be close between the pair but THE SHUNTER looks the one to beat with race conditions in his favour. The winner of handicaps over hurdles and fences at Cheltenham, he scored on the Flat in May and finished a close third behind stablemate Cape Gentleman on the level at Killarney last month. Shewearsitwell, a Grade 3 novice hurdle winner, beat the smart Off You Go at Killarney and her two subsequent runs have been at a very high level. Happy Jacky and The Very Man are others to consider in a very competitive race for the money.
