In depth

Verdict

Archie Rice is a thorough stayer who bounces off fast ground and neither trip nor going look to be in his favour here. Recent course and distance third First Avenue is much better when the mud is flying while Kentford Heiress steps up a grade off a higher mark after grinding out a narrow victory over further here last time. FAIR TO MIDDLING (NAP) only found the much-improved Luccombe Down too good at Uttoxeter in June. He's been waiting for the going to ease a little and can go one better this afternoon. Take A Bow reverts to hurdles on a fair mark but may just need this.
