An interesting end to proceedings sees Ice Cool Lad, Time To Parlez and Dick McCarthy hold major claims, but a chance is taken with Gary Moore's The Big'Un under Philip Hide who rides the track so well. The Big'Un looked all over the winner on his last outing at Huntingdon when taking it up three out, but was caught and passed by two lighter weighted opponents near the line. The slightly longer trip should be in his favour and the bends should rule out anything coming late at him if the same tactics are employed here. Time To Parlez now enjoys a five pound pull with Ice Cool Lad for the three lengths that separated them here back in March so there will not be much between them, while Dick McCarthy, who has not won for three years, nearly put matters right at Wincanton but was caught on the line. His bad luck will probably continue if The Big'Un continues to improve.
