FINCH FLYER gets the nod at a track where his trainer excels. A winner off a mark of 52 at Brighton earlier in the month, this Indian Ridge gelding looks a solid recruit to hurdling. It's intriguing that his progress seems to have coincided with the application of cheek-pieces which are left off today, however his trainer knows best. Charmeur, a French recruit, has experience but looks modest at best, whilst Plus Ultra was rated in the 70's on the level (originally for Henry Cecil) and he hasn't been with Phil Kirby for long. Rhyton flopped on his hurdling bow at Bangor but if his jumping technique has improved then he should run well under AP McCoy. It's no real surprise that the Kayf Tara filly Tallulah Mai is quickly sent over an obstacle, and along with fellow debutante Whipperway she looks the most interesting of the rest.
