Verdict

TOMMIE BEAU put in a robust display to land the Durham National at Sedgefield and a 3lb rise up the handicap does not appear to be an onerous call by the assessor. Wake Up Early and Gerico Ville have both exhibited their best form in small fields and that’s something that shouldn’t be overlooked here while Movethechains was fifth in the Welsh National last term and this race will be a nice bridging race to another tilt at the Chepstow showpiece. Max Dynamo proved last season that he is more than capable of making winning returns from layoffs.
