New Mischief ran well on his first start for 14 months at Plumpton recently and has to be considered but this may come too soon for Noel Chance's gelding and preference is for Lingfield winner Play The Melody, who is taken to follow up at the main expense of Nero West. The last mentioned won a maiden hurdle at Wincanton last time but this looks tougher for the five-year-old in a handicap for the first time. It's The Limit seems to be in the grip of the handicapper at present, while Franco has rather harshly been raised 6lbs for his narrow win at Towcester on Boxing Day. Amanpuri lost no caste in defeat at Ludlow last time but may want a faster surface and a safer bet looks to be Play The Melody, who was good value for his win at Lingfield on his reappearance and is taken to follow up.
