Verdict

None of these inspire confidence given Scarlet Couture faded away quickly after a blunder at Lingfield on her hurdling bow while both Miss Molly Mae and Marlow Moss failed to complete on their respective hurdling debuts. The remaining trio all go hurdling for the first time but Viking Ruby has shown little in bumpers and Smart Getaway was still well beaten when third at Plumpton in December. SHAPIRO has a second in a bumper to recommend her and, given she’s a half-sister to three winners over timber, Anthony Honeyball’s mare gets a speculative vote despite a lengthy absence.
