In depth

Verdict

Souriceau, Mutual Friend, and Sonning Star are the three to look at here with Souriceau given the vote. Mutual Friend was a Lingfield handicap winner on the Flat this summer, but made favourite for his hurdling bow he was something of a disappointment, finishing only fourth in a small field. He should come on for the experience, and rated 77 on the Flat he is respected. Sonning Star is an interesting recruit to the winter game. A maiden on the Flat though rated over 70, he has been placed on four occasions and clearly has ability. He is sure to have been well schooled and any market move should be heeded. Following a promising debut at Sandown, Souriceau was run out of it in the closing stages at Plumpton having been made favourite. He should be spot on for this with those experiences under his belt and Souriceau can take this.
