SOUTHWAY STAR is in cracking form and effectively races off a pound lower mark than when winning at Exeter on Friday. Manics Man is 2lb better off than when beaten two lengths by the selection over C&D previously but Susan Gardner's mare appears the more progressive and can confirm the form. Owner Occupier won off a 10lb higher mark over fences at Sandown in March and last month's run at Plumpton should have blown away a few cobwebs. He may not be far away and makes more appeal than the four-year-olds Ladyvie and Matrow's Lady. Snow Patrol started favourite for a similar contest at Chepstow last month and looks the pick of the remainder.
