Switching from Turf Paradise, OHTANI showed early pace in an allowance stakes here a week ago before being squeezed on the home turn. A wide draw has done him no favours and he will have to reverse that form with Where’s Rufus but he is one of several promising rides this evening for Jake Olesiak. First-time blinkers could bring about some improvement in another wide runner, Da Van Geaux, and Cliff’s Place would figure if recapturing his best form. Taylor’s Prince beat a subsequent winner here two runs ago but was behind Cliff’s Place in the race before that.
