In depth

Verdict

Spring Grove, who returned to action with a tidy success at Lingfield six days ago, gets the vote over his sole opponent Duke Of Buckingham. The selection has suffered from trouble with his feet in the past so maybe it's best time to catch him with his confidence high. He has competed at a decent level in his time and, usually a sound jumper, holds solid claims. Duke Of Buckingham rates a solid opponent though. He has proven consistent so far over fences and it would be no surprise to see him win. He was no match for Puntal on his seasonal return but will have more of a chance to dominate in this event, something he likes to do, and this 2-mile trip should also be more to his liking. It's a spin of a coin really and in this case it fell in favour of Spring Grove.
