Ressource can make up for his recent lapse by beating the likes of Elvis and Polyphony in a weak contest at the Kent track. The ex-French Ressource took on good company after coming over from France but has failed to get his head in front since having his sights lowered recently. Beaten when falling at the last at Hereford a fortnight ago, he had earlier finished second to Governor Daniel at Fontwell. He has a major chance on that form but his jumping has left a lot to be desired, and so he cannot be counted as a good thing. Elvis went out like a light at Leicester last time but showed at Plumpton earlier that there may be one more win in him. He was going like the winner two out in that classified contest, but found nothing on the run-in. He has had a tendency to bleed in the past so is another that cannot be considered a reliable betting option. It is over six years since Polyphony gained his only victory, on the flat at Carlisle for Roger Charlton, but he has bits and pieces of form that give him a squeak, such as his second at Fontwell in March. This is definitely an event in which bets should be kept on the small side, but a minor investment on Ressource may pay dividends.
