In depth

Verdict

El Viejo has been running well in point-to-points of late and as to be respected back under rules today but it is hard to get away from Cape Stormer, who gets the vote with Murphy's Cardinal rated the pick of the remainder. The selection was well held at Cheltenham last week but is better than he showed that day and looks worth chancing in what does not look the strongest of contests. Bell Rock has been largely disappointing since being placed in hunter chase-company, while Brown Teddy is capable on the pick of his form but that is some way behind him now. Noel Chance's Murphy's Cardinal has been running well in points and in a recent start in a hunter chase at Towcester and he has solid claims but marginal preference is for Cape Stormer.
