Victory Spirit gets a narrow vote over Dee Jay Wells, Bahamian Love and Beautiful Madness, with House Maiden, Siesta and Tykie Two worth a mention at least. The last-named trio will all be better for the experience but should pay to follow in time, especially the latter who hails from a stable that excels with its juveniles. However, on this occasion we are prepared to take a chance that Victory Spirit will go one better than when runner-up over six furlongs at Newmarket last month. That was a much better effort than the time before when John Dunlop's charge finished last of eight at Leicester, and he looks the sort to follow when put into nurseries. Dee Jay Wells is actually entered in one such event at Sandown next week, and he has enough placed form to figure here, but looks nothing out of the ordinary. Bahamian Love has already been seen out five times and in the main has given the impression that another furlong would not come amiss, while Beautiful Madness hung in the closing stages when third at Leicester, and is yet another that may be better served by seven furlongs. All in all, Victory Spirit has a bit of scope, and should now be ready to strike.
