Snake's Head can make a successful return to the fray over Crown Office, Far Seeking and Noticeable. John Dunlop's maiden's do tend to improve significantly from two to three, and so hopes are high that Snake's Head can now start to pay her way. Given a Group 1 entry last year, she failed to impress enough to warrant taking on top company, but was sent off as favourite on her final start at Chepstow, where she could only finish third over a mile. On breeding she should do better over today's trip, and she is related to plenty of winners at three. Crown Office has a fitness edge over her four rivals, having shaped with a great deal of promise on her Kempton introduction in March. She too has enough stamina in her pedigree to make her mark over middle-distances, and will enhance her paddock value with a win under her belt. Far Seeking looked too green to do himself justice when in mid-division on his Newmarket bow last autumn, and on this better ground, and with a winter behind him, Amanda Perret's colt should improve considerably. Noticeable did not live up to his name at Newbury recently, but time may tell that he was asked to contest a hot maiden, and it would be no surprise if he lost his maiden tag soon. On this occasion though, we shall rely on Snake's Head.
