This is a lot more competitive than the race Lord Lescribaa won at Newton Abbot 10 days ago. Power Pack Jack proved disappointing last season while Hobb's Dream may need this after a short break and Oddjob is now tried in blinkers after appearing one-paced when fourth to Fairwood Massini in a novices' handicap over course and distance earlier this month. Aikideau hinted at a revival at Newton Abbot and is another tried in headgear, as is Dunkelly Castle, but NUMBERCRUNCHER looks interesting off this mark having had a confidence-boosting win between the flags and he's just preferred to the consistent Sandynow.
