    Verdict

The Groove made a winning start in handicaps in an apprentices’ race at Salisbury and is only 2lb higher. Barista was in decent form last month and Topmeup finally opened her account over slightly further at Chepstow, though was put up 5lb for that. BRYGHT BOY is now 0-12 but enjoyed the soft going at Lingfield in July when just denied. Only a pound higher here, he looks the one to beat. Doctor Bong can’t be ignored but was behind Misu Pete here in July.
