A close check on the market is recommended before parting with any hard-earned cash on this very modest handicap. Most of these arrive out of sorts, though Bathwick Junior won at Plumpton in December before finishing second at Fontwell and has only gone up a further 3lb. LAKOTA GHOST hasn't shown much over hurdles so far but won a handicap over 1m4f on the Fibresand at Southwell earlier this month which suggests he should handle conditions here - he gets a very tentative vote to transfer that form to jumps. Old Magic has won a race over timber and must have some sort of chance but the remainder rarely run two races alike and are more difficult to fancy.
